Fixed braces offer reliable results

Every child is different and will have their own thoughts and concerns about wearing braces. We offer a range of solutions to help them feel their most confident. Traditional metal braces are a classic choice for efficient treatment that is both predictable and cost-effective.

With ceramic braces, your child can enjoy a less visible orthodontic treatment plan, as the brackets are made from a tooth-coloured ceramic material and the wires are clear.

If you’re looking for clear and removable aligners, learn more about Invisalign Teen treatment opportunities. Whatever your preferences or concerns, we can help you to find the right solution for your needs.

Start treatment on your schedule

If your child has been turned down for NHS orthodontics – or if you are worried about the length of the waiting list – we can help. With private orthodontics, you can access the same high quality treatments available on the NHS but on a much more flexible schedule.

By starting treatment sooner, you can avoid any issues that may arise as the teeth shift further out of alignment. This also means that your child doesn’t have to meet the NHS requirements, so they can fix even minor imperfections that might be impacting their confidence. With private orthodontics, you can ensure that your child can start treatment on their schedule.

More questions?

At what age should a child go to the orthodontist?

We recommend that children visit the dentist every 6 months. During these regular checkups, their dentist will monitor their teeth and offer recommendations if they believe it is time to consider orthodontic treatment. If you are interested in learning more about orthodontics, you can speak to your family dentist.

Are children's braces free on the NHS?

Yes, some children may be eligible for free orthodontic treatment if there is a clinical need for treatment. Children have to be under the age of 16 or 17 and in full-time education and meet the requirements. There may be a long wait for NHS orthodontics due to considerable demand.

How much does it cost for a child to get braces in the UK?

The cost will vary depending on the length of the treatment plan and the choice of orthodontic system. During your initial orthodontic consultation, we can discuss the cost of the various treatment plans. We also offer payment plans so that you can spread the cost of treatment.

Can I refer my child to an orthodontist?

You don’t need to refer your child to an orthodontist, provided they are visiting a family dentist regularly. If you have been told your child does not qualify for orthodontics by your usual family dentist, you may wish to seek out private treatment. Get in touch with our team today if you’d like to explore the options available to you.

What does the orthodontist do on the first appointment?

During your child’s first orthodontic appointment, we will assess the teeth and the jaw to determine if orthodontic treatment could be beneficial. We will need to take an X‑ray of your child’s teeth to see how they are aligned. We may also use a digital scanner which will allow us to create a 3D image of how your child’s smile could look after treatment.

How long does a braces referral take?

We have orthodontists in our practice ready to see patients, so you won’t have to wait long to see a specialist. If you are interested in NHS braces only, you may have to wait longer for an appointment as there is exceptional demand for NHS orthodontics.
